BHEL bags Rs 11,000 Crore contract from Adani Power – EQ

The contract involves significant work in power equipment supply and services, strengthening BHEL’s position in the energy sector. This collaboration highlights the ongoing investment in India’s power infrastructure, with BHEL playing a crucial role in supporting the country’s energy needs.
In Detail : Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has secured an Rs 11,000 crore contract from Adani Power Ltd (APL) and its subsidiary, Mahan Energen Ltd (MEL), for three Supercritical Thermal Power projects. The deal significantly advances India’s power infrastructure, highlighting BHEL’s crucial role in the sector.
The contract covers the supply and installation of critical equipment, including Boilers, Turbines, Generators, and auxiliary systems for projects at Kawai Phase-II and Kawai Phase-III in Rajasthan, and Mahan Phase-III in Madhya Pradesh. Each project will have a capacity of 2×800 MW and utilise advanced Supercritical Technology.
BHEL will also manage the control and instrumentation systems, overseeing their installation and commissioning to ensure operational and performance standards are met. The completion timelines are set at 49 months for Kawai Phase-II, 52 months for Kawai Phase-III, and 55 months for Mahan Phase-III.
These contracts, awarded at arm’s length, do not involve related party transactions or stakes from promoter or group companies.
