BHEL commissions 3 MW Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Power Plant
New Delhi, April 28: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has commissioned a 3 MW Solar PV Power Plant in the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli. The Solar PV Power Plant was recently inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Sh. Narendra Modi. BHEL has executed this project on turnkey basis for Dadra and Nagar Haveli Power Distribution Corporation Limited, at Velugam.
Significantly, BHEL is presently executing Solar PV projects of about 180 MW for various customers. BHEL offers EPC solutions for both off-grid and grid interactive Solar PV power Plants and has set up solar plants in various locations in India including the Lakshadweep Islands for island electrification.
BHEL manufactures Solar Cells and Modules at its units in Bengaluru. Space grade solar panels using high efficiency cells and space grade Battery panels are manufactured at its Electronics System Division, Bengaluru.
BHEL is one of the few companies in India whose solar business is backed by a dedicated R&D team at the company’s Amorphous Silicon Solar Cell Plant (ASSCP) in Gurugram.
