Kushagra is a solar energy enthusiast with 20 years of experience in leading large teams that have developed multiple MW scale solar energy projects across the world.
As the Co-Founder and Managing Director of SunSource Energy, one of India’s leading integrated distributed solar companies, he has been instrumental in shaping the company’s strategy and leading its project execution, technology, and engineering efforts to carve a niche in the global solar market.
Prior to founding SunSource, he worked with global solar majors including SunPower, GE, and Conti Group. He is a graduate in Solar Energy Engineering from the University of Massachusetts and has Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology.
Kushagra has won several awards including the ‘BW Businessworld 40 under 40’, the ‘Global Young Entrepreneur Excellence Award’ at WRETC, the ‘UP Ratna 2018’, and the ‘Entrepreneur of the Year Award’ at the DLA Awards 2019. His work has been highlighted in top publications such as The Guardian, The Economic Times, Financial Express, and The Times of India , and is a sought-after speaker at major global platforms.
Kushagra served as a solar technical expert to the World Bank and IFC and was a member of the interconnection group at the Mid-Atlantic Solar Energy Association to assist New Jersey’s Board of Public Utilities in helping define the state’s solar policy implementation. Kushagra is the CoChair of the UP State Development Council of ASSOCHAM. Additionally, he serves as the cochair of the rooftop committee at the National Solar Energy Federation of India. He is passionate about rural electrification and energy security through clean energy and storage-based solutions.
