Cenergist signs MoU with Teri
UK-based energy efficiency services firm – Cenergist which rolled out its Indian operation from Kolkata today signed an MoU with Teri (The Energy and Resources Institute) to promote greener products and projects.
The MoU was signed in the presence of state power minister Sovandeb Chattopadhyay at the 10th Enviornment and Energy Conclave.
Cenergist will distribute LED bulbs in UK and is in collaboration with Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL).
Chattopadhyay said keeping pace with the trend, West Begal is working for a lot of renewable projects including in the solar sector.
“We are planning several solar parks and have undertaken projects for rooftop solar panels in schools and government buildings,” he said.
British High Commissioner Dominic Asquith speaking at the event said India and the UK share common conviction on climate change and are committed to Paris Agreement.
UK is collaborating at central and state levels on power sector reform initiative in India.
The two countries had recently announced to invest USD 120 million each to fund clean energy projects under National Infrastructure Investment Fund.
