The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) of Sri Lanka has launched 2 separate tenders comprising 100 MW AC ground mounted solar power plant in Siyambalanduwa, and 30 MW AC capacity to be developed as ground mounted/floating solar on build-own-operate (BOO) basis.
Bidders for the 100 MW AC solar power plant will be expected to finance, design, supply, construct, commission, and provide operation and maintenance (O&M) services for the project while constructing a 132 kV transmission facility on turnkey basis from Siyamabalanduwa to Monaragala grid substation.
Winner will get project land on lease during the project period and it will enter into power purchase agreement (PPA) with CEB for 20 years. Last date to submit bids for this tender launched on August 22, 2022 is October 21, 2022.
Interested developers can also submit their proposals for the development of 30 MW AC capacity as ground mounted/floating solar PV plants for 20-year operational period. A single plant can have an installed capacity ranging between 1 MW AC to 5 MW AC.
CEB has provided grid substation and capacity limit of 2 MW AC at Beliatta, 10 MW AC at Matara, 3 MW AC at Nawalapitiya, 7 MW AC Pallekele, and 8 MW AC at Vavunathivu. Proposals will be considered only if the developer submits documents registered in the land registry as a proof. The agency will enter into 20-year PPA with the winners.
