Charge your electric car whilst having a pint
Okay, you should not drink and drive, yet ChargePoint Services scored a contract with a large pub company belonging to the Ei Group. It operates over 4,400 locations in the UK that will gradually become part of ChargePoint Services’ GeniePoint network.
During phase one, ChargePoint Services will install ten charging stations at Ei Group’s Pub Support Centre in Solihull to provide free charging for the company’s drivers to charge their electric vehicles whilst at work. This will be five twin socket units providing 7kW & 22kW charging powers.
Phase two will see the installation of GeniePoint Network rapid chargers in car parks at selected pubs owned by the group. Those charge points will be consumer-facing – hence our advice of better not drink and drive.
Ultimately, the partners intend to roll out the electric vehicle charging network across further pubs and nationwide.
