RAIPUR: The state government has announced a new five-year industrial policy on Friday. The new policy aims to boost business growth, also maintaining green cover at the same time.

Promoting industries producing bio-ethanol from rice, ago as well as food processing units and plants manufacturing electric vehicles is one of the top priorities in the list.

As part of rural push idea, provision of developing an industrial park in every development block of the state has also been included.

To encourage the growth and public participation the policy asserts on formation of advisory committees at the local level for maintenance of existing industrial areas.

The sapling plantation in wide covers is now mandatory in industrial area. The policy assures to develop fire stations in major industrial areas of more than 100 acres. To strengthen the storage capacity and boost the development of logistic parks the rates of allotted land will be rationalized.

Water and effluent treatment plants and effective solid waste management units will be developed in industrial areas on Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.

The policy assures to provide marketing assistance to micro, small and medium enterprises of the state. Amending the Chhattisgarh Stores Purchase Rules, the state government already replaced the centre’s Gem portal with e-Maanak portal to ensure indigenous products get better market and eliminate national competitors.

For marketing local products, government will assist industrialists to participate at trade fairs and exhibitions organized at national and international level.

To encourgae young entreprenuers, the government will also buy start-up products on a priority basis, when needed.

To boost the export and import from Chhattisgarh, the industrial policy assures special tax concessions to make local products more competetive in the market.

To overcome the transportation issues of the manufacturing units to nearest ports the government will provide concessions in transportation facilities and assured to start the proposed APEDAs office in state capital.

The state government will allow special incentives for the weaker sections, schedule caste, tribes, ex-servicemen and women entrepreneurs to start industries.

Film studios equipped with hi-tech digital facilities will be developed for the development of the Chhattisgarh film industry.

The production techniques of procuring fuels, gases and petroleum products from coal and other resources will be encouraged.
