China’s Senyuan Starts Building $1.55 Billion Solar Farm

Henan Senyuan Group Co., a Chinese electrical power equipment maker, started construction of a 10 billion-yuan ($1.55 billion) photovoltaic power project in central China’s Henan province.The 1 gigawatt Yuzhou project will be capable of generating 1.3 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity and reducing 1.2 million metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually once completed, according to a statement posted on Senyuan’s website. Construction schedules weren’t disclosed.Senyuan entered the solar power business in 2014, with an initial investment of 2 billion yuan in a solar project in Henan’s Lankao county, according to the website.
