CIL has planted 30.42 lakh saplings in FY 2021-22 as compared to 19.89 lakh saplings in FY 2020-21.

New Delhi: The Government-owned coal mining company, Coal India Limited (CIL) has planted saplings over an area of 1,468.5 Hectares in Financial Year 2021-22, as compared to an area of 862 Hectares in FinanciaL Year 2020-21. CIL has planted 30.42 lakh saplings in FY 2021-22 as compared to 19.89 lakh saplings in FY 2020-21.

Satellite monitoring report of CIL’s 76 Open Cast Mines producing more than 5 Million Tonnes of coal + overburden indicates that 62.5% area has been reclaimed in the excavated area as compared to 37.5% which is under active mining area.
