COP21 – Gyanesh Chaudhary comments on India’s role critical in addressing Climate Change
Vikram Solar, a globally recognized leading solar energy solutions provider participated in the 21st Conference of Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP21) in Paris. The company was represented by Mr. Gyanesh Chaudhary, MD & CEO.
Mr. Chaudhary said “India has already demonstrated its commitment to clean energy by setting solar energy target of 100 GW by 2022. This commitment has been further enforced with India taking a leadership position globally by the formation of International Solar Alliance. We are optimistic that the Alliance will not only help in attracting further investments in the solar sector but encourage collaboration in research and innovation. He added “ I firmly believe that today India is creating climate for change.”
Commenting on the progressive plans of leveraging solar energy in India, he said, “India is blessed with massive solar potential of 748 GWP and if this resource is utilized to its fullest, carbon footprints in a developing nation like India could be brought down to a great extent.” He further added that India will be one of the major driving powers in the battle against climate change.As a leading solar module manufacturer and EPC player, Vikram Solar has been actively shaping the solar energy revolution since 2006
