Delhi to have more EV charging stations, NDMC gives nod – EQ Mag
The New Delhi Municipal Council also gave approval to a project to revamp electricity transmission and distribution through Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme.
The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has recently approved a project to open more EV charging stations and another to revamp electricity transmission and distribution through Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS).
The projects were approved on Wednesday at the NDMC council meeting that was presided over by chairperson Amit Yadav and attended by the members and senior officials.
As part of promoting green transportation, the NDMC will sign an agreement with public sector undertaking to increase seamless EV charging facility.
Officials said that the project for the revamping of the sub-transmission and distribution network, including feeders, distribution transformers and boundary metering under a Reforms-based and Result linked, Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) for the NDMC area was approved to improve the quality and reliability of power supply to consumers.
“It will help in reducing the technical and commercial loss from existing above 15 per cent to below 12 per cent, improved infrastructure of distribution companies, reliability of power supply, reduction in outage time and monitoring of load demand,” said an NDMC officer.
Further, the civic agency will also revive the posts of 27 executive engineers (Civil) in the civil engineering department to fill up the said post on promotion from Assistant Engineer (Civil).
“The council also resolved the proposal of RRs for the post of assistant teacher (Nursery). The education department has been directed to obtain the requisite posts through the Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB),” officials said.
