Dr Gunter Erfurt nominated as new Chief Operating Officer and Member of the Executive Board of Meyer Burger Technology Ltd
Meyer Burger Technology Ltd appoints Dr Gunter Erfurt as new Chief Operating Officer COO and Member of the Executive Board effective 1 February 2017. Meyer Burger Technology Ltd (SIX Swiss Exchange: MBTN) today announced that the position within the Executive Board for the management, direction and organisation of the overall global operating processes and operational performance will be filled by Dr Gunter Erfurt effective 1 February 2017.
Gunter Erfurt (43) is a German citizen. He received a degree in engineering from the Westsächsische Hochschule Zwickau (Germany) and a PhD in physics from the University of Freiberg (Germany). Since November 2015 he has held the position of Managing Director and Member of the Management Board of Meyer Burger (Germany) AG, the competence centre for the industry leading MAiA and SiNA cell technologies. Under his management the location in Hohenstein-Ernstthal has been further developed and is performing very successfully in operating terms. Gunter Erfurt has both in-depth knowledge of solar cell technologies and the industrialization of PV manufacturing processes as well as international experience in industrial environments. Prior to joining Meyer Burger (Germany) AG he held various management positions at SolarWorld from 2006 – 2015; the last position being Managing Director of a SolarWorld business unit. „Gunter Erfurt has a compelling track record.
