IBC SOLAR has been providing customers with PV systems of all sizes for more than 30 years. For the solar farm in Meyenburg, the company was not only tasked with the development and implementation of this mayor asset project but will also be in charge of operations and maintenance (O&M). E.ON has been involved in the development and financing of this project. Both companies are already cooperating in the sale of PV systems and storage solutions. With the Meyenburg solar farm they are now jointly completing a large-scale open-field project.

“The Meyenburg solar farm in Brandenburg will not only help generate sustainable electricity for the region but will also make an important contribution to tomorrow’s energy supply,” said Robert Hienz, Managing Director of E.ON Energie Deutschland. “We are constantly expanding our range of PV services and product solutions. Open-field projects like the one in Meyenburg play an important role in this regard.”

“We are delighted to be able to complete such a large-scale project with E.ON for the first time,” said Jörg Eggersdorfer, CFO of IBC SOLAR. “Having a dedicated project company has allowed us to build this solar farm quickly and optimize its output,” he added.

The starting point for this cooperation project was the Federal Network Agency’s first bidding round in early 2015 for large-scale open-field PV plants. In this auction a total of 170 bids were submitted for a total of 150 megawatt. IBC SOLAR was awarded a contract for two projects, one of which was Meyenburg.
