In Short : EKI Energy has joined the PCAF Accreditation Programme to promote sustainable finance and enhance transparency in carbon emissions. By participating in this initiative, EKI Energy aims to support climate goals and improve the management of carbon footprints across its operations. The move aligns with global efforts to integrate sustainability into financial decision-making and drive environmental responsibility.
In Detail : EKI Energy Services, a leading homegrown company in the sustainability sector, has officially joined the Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF) accreditation programme to help assess and manage greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions linked to loans and investments. PCAF is a global initiative focused on enhancing transparency and accountability in the financial sector’s carbon emissions.
As an accredited PCAF partner, EKI will leverage its expertise in carbon footprint assessments, carbon credit trading, and sustainability strategies to assist financial institutions in setting and achieving science-based targets. This move is seen as a significant step in aligning India’s financial sector with global climate goals.
EKI’s inclusion in the PCAF programme makes it the second entity from India to participate in this global effort. The company emphasized that by adopting PCAF’s standards, institutions will be better equipped to contribute to the goals of the Paris Agreement and the broader transition to a low-carbon economy.
Manish Dabkara, Chairman and Managing Director of EKI, expressed, “Joining the PCAF accreditation journey is a significant milestone in our mission to support India’s and South Asia’s financial institutions in measuring, reporting, and managing their portfolio emissions. Together, we aim to drive the region’s transition to a sustainable, low-carbon future.”
Bart van Lunteren, Accredited Partner Lead at PCAF, added, “As India’s sustainable finance landscape expands, we look forward to seeing EKI contribute to the region’s green economy transformation.”
