Enercity Erneuerbare acquires 365MW onshore wind portfolio – EQ Mag Pro
Around 60 projects have been bought from Norderland Group
Norderland Group has sold a 365MW onshore wind farm portfolio to enercity Erneuerbare, a subsidiary of the Hanover-based enercity AG.
The sale of the portfolio is one of the largest transactions in the field of onshore wind farms in Germany, said Metzler, which advised Norderland on the deal.
The portfolio includes around 60 wind farm operating companies with over 160 wind turbines at windy locations. Compared to conventionally generated electricity, the portfolio enables CO2 savings of over 900,000 tonnes per year, Metzler said.
It added that the transaction also included an attractive repowering pipeline and the associated infrastructure.
The wind farms are mainly located in Lower Saxony as well as in Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Brandenburg.
The sale took place as part of an international auction process, which attracted great interest from both strategic and financial investors.
Metzler Corporate Finance managed the process exclusively for the sellers until it was successfully completed.
