Energy Efficiency Services Limited, rural development department MoU for solar energy – EQ Mag Pro
In a bid to promote solar energy in rural areas, the rural development department signed an MoU with Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL).
Speaking on the occasion, deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said that the MoU was signed by the Aajeevika mission (state livelihood mission) under Prerna Ojas to expand solar energy in rural areas. This, he said. would pave the way for self-employment as well as economic progress of rural women.
Maurya said that apart from preserving the environment by the use of solar energy, mineral wealth produced by nature would also be protected.
He said that the institutions with whom the MoU has been finalized are the leading institutions of the country, which are expanding solar energy and motivating the common people to use it.
He said that various self-employment programmes are promoted in rural areas by the women of self-help groups. Maurya said now SHGs will take a step forward and develop themselves as Ojas Entrepreneurs and play an important role in building a “strong nation”.
