Enovos takes full control of German solar developer WES Green – EQ Mag Pro
Enovos Renewables GmbH has acquired all shares in German solar developer WES Green GmbH from renewable energy group Wircon GmbH in a deal that will strengthen its position in western Germany.
Until now, WES Green operated as a 50:50 joint venture between Enovos and Wircon.
The acquisition is a logical step in Enovos’ path to becoming a leading player and a driving force for the expansion of renewable energy in the states of Saarland and Rhineland-Palatinate, managing director Marc Andre said in a press release.
Apart from the regional expansion, the acquisition of full control will also complement Enovos’ renewables value chain.
The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Based in Foehren, Rhineland-Palatinate, WES Green focuses on the development and construction of ground-mounted solar parks in its home state and Saarland as well as in Luxembourg. According to its website, it is close to completing a 14.7-MW solar project in the Leiwen municipality in Rhineland-Palatinate with commissioning planned for 2022.
Currently, Enovos and WES Green are jointly working on a project for the construction of 11 solar parks with a combined capacity of 214 MWp in the Eifel region in western Germany.
