Eurus Energy debuts in Taiwan with 2-MW solar PV plant
December 22 : Japan’s Eurus Energy Group has launched commercial operations of a 1.98-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) farm in Taiwan, its first in the country.
The renewable energy company announced the milestone for the Neipu Solar Power Plant on Monday. The PV park was developed by W Energy Investment Corp. The developer also holds a 20% stake in the park, while Eurus Energy and Farglory Life Insurance Co Ltd each hold a 40% interest.
Located in Neipu township, Pingtung County, the plant is equipped with PV modules supplied locally by United Renewable Energy (URE). Operational since December 16, Neipu Solar’s output will be sold to domestic utility Taiwan Power Company.
The Taiwanese government plans to increase to 20% the country’s renewable energy share by 2025, Eurus noted.
