French business delegation to visit Nagpur on Thursday
A 30-member French business delegation led by Paul Hermelin, Special Representative for Bilateral Economic Relations, will arrive here on Thursday with aims to expand Indo-French bilateral cooperation, an official statement said here on Wednesday.
The high-powered delegations, comprising heads of major world-renowned French companies will present their expertise and know-how with focus on sectors like renewable energy, urban development and Smart Cities.
Nagpur is among three cities – including Chandigarh and Puducherry – selected to receive technical assistance from the French government through the French Development Agency as part of its support towards the implementation of the Smart Cities Mission in India.
During the visit, Hermelin will meet Nagpur Municipal Corporation Mayor Nanda Jichkar and NMC Municipal Commissioner Ashwin Mudgal, who are taking a keen interest in the Smart Cities programme.
The French delegation will go out in the field to visit the upcoming Maha Metro, the newly unveiled electric cars facility and the riverfront development sites.
Civic officials will make a detailed presentation on the implementation of the Smart Cities Programme and the French side will offer technical solutions from its side.
