The Centre was in the process of finalising a scheme to release funds for the 14 stalled hydro power projects in the country, Central Electricity Authority member (Hydro) K K Arya said here today.
“We have 14 stalled hydro power projects in the country, worth Rs 26,000 crore. We are thinking of creation of a hydro power development fund. It is almost at the final stage,” Arya said while addressing the Energy Conclave, organised by CII.
Beside offering fiscal benefits, the government was contemplating to offer renewable status to all hydro power projects irrespective of their size, he said.

The total power production capacity of the stalled 14 projects is 10,000 MW.
