Gentari to supply 650 MW RTC renewable energy to AMG Ammonia – EQ
In Short : Gentari has signed an agreement to supply 650 MW of round-the-clock (RTC) renewable energy to AMG Ammonia. The partnership ensures a consistent and sustainable energy supply, supporting AMG Ammonia’s green initiatives. This collaboration highlights the growing integration of renewable energy in industrial operations, promoting sustainability and reducing carbon footprints in critical sectors like ammonia production.
In Detail : Gentari, through its subsidiary Gentari Renewables India Castor One, has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with AM Green Ammonia India (AMG Ammonia) to supply 650 MW of round-the-clock (RTC) renewable energy. This energy will support AMG Ammonia’s upcoming green ammonia facilities.
To fulfill this agreement, Gentari will establish approximately 2,400 MW of combined wind and solar energy capacity in India, integrated with 350 MW/2,100 MWh of energy storage systems to ensure a firm and dispatchable supply of green energy.
The solar project will be located at a single site, while the wind projects will span multiple locations, connected through the interstate transmission system network. These projects will be developed in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. The energy supply arrangement complies with the Renewable Fuels of Non-Biological Origin framework, enabling AMG Ammonia to target European and other international markets.
In November 2023, Gentari International Renewables Pte Limited, AM Green, and GIC collectively invested in AM Green Ammonia Holdings BV (AMG Ammonia), aiming to produce 5 million tonnes of green ammonia annually by 2030 using RTC renewable energy sources, with initial exports planned by 2025 to OECD markets, including Germany, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore.
