GERC Announces Decision on GUVNL’s Petition Seeking Tariff Approval for Power Procurement
Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC) has announced its decision on the petition filed by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL).
The petition sought adoption of the tariff discovered under Competitive Bidding Process for procurement of power from Grid connected Solar PV projects in Gujarat.
The commission decided to adopt the tariff discovered under the transparent competitive bidding process conducted by the petitioner through RfS No. GUVNL/ 500 MW / Solar (Phase XII) dated January 23, 2021.
GERC has directed the Petitioner to sign the Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) with the successful bidders in compliance with the stipulations of the Electricity (Late Payment Surcharge) Rules, 2021.
The Commission also directed GUVNL to submit the copies of duly executed PPAs to GERC. After the execution of PPAs, the Petitioner will have to publicly disclose the names of the successful bidders and tariff quoted by them together with the break up with the component for 30 days on its website in terms of Clause 10.3 of the bidding guidelines as amended for knowledge an information of the stakeholders. The hearing of the matter was conducted through video conferencing on account of Covid 19 pandemic.
