German bank helps fund 99MW Spanish PV trio for Foresight – EQ Mag Pro
Bayerische Landesbank was advised on the loan deal by law firm Watson Farley & Williams
Munich-based bank Bayerische Landesbank (BayernLB) has provided project financing for three solar plants in Granada, Spain, with a combined capacity of almost 99MW.
The bank acted as lender for a structured loan granted to the three special purpose vehicles (SPVs) that own the plants.
The SPVs are owned by Foresight Solar Fund, a listed entity managed by Foresight Group.
Law firm Watson Farley & Williams advised BayernLB.
The WFW team was led by partner Rodrigo Berasategui, working closely with senior associate Antonio Caneva and Associate Sara Estradera.
Berasategui said: “We are delighted to have advised long-standing firm client BayernLB on this portfolio financing.
“Our role in this transaction underpins WFW’s standing as one of the leading legal advisors for finance work in the renewable energy space in Europe and, in particular, in the Spanish market.”
