
German retailer Netto to invest EUR 100m in solar roofs, heat pumps – EQ Mag Pro
German retail chain Netto will spend about EUR 100 million (USD 110.5m) to put in rooftop photo voltaic photovoltaic (PV) programs and warmth pumps and change fuel heating at its shops and logistic centres within the residence market in a bid to chop reliance on Russian fuel and cut back its carbon footprint.
The change to electrical warmth pumps will have an effect on practically 300 Netto shops and logistic centres throughout Germany and can happen throughout the subsequent three years, the retailer mentioned on Friday.
Moreover, Netto will regularly arrange photo voltaic PV programs on the roofs of greater than 100 shops and logistic centres by the tip of 2028 and can change to new climate-neutral fridges in all its shops throughout Germany by the tip of 2026.
The choice for the funding and the transition to extra environment friendly vitality options was made on account of the rising stress amid rising electrical energy costs and the heavy reliance on Russia.
