Germany launches 1.95 GW solar tender
Germany’s Federal Network Agency on Tuesday kicked off the first round of the ground-mounted solar tender for 2023, targeting projects with a total capacity of 1.95 GW.
Proposals for ground-mounted solar parks and solar plants on structural systems that are neither buildings nor noise barriers will be accepted until March 1. The competition is structured on the pay-as-bid scheme.
The value of the projects must not exceed EUR 0.0737 (USD 0.08) per kWh which is about 25% higher than last year. The power regulator raised the price cap earlier this week in an effort to draw stronger interest in the auction after the sharp drop in bids in 2022.
In 2023, Germany seeks to award nearly 6 GW of capacity for ground-mounted solar parks, which is significantly more than the 3.6 GW target for 2022. The capacity will be allocated in three calls with deadlines on March 1, July 1 and December 1.
