Patna: Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi today said Bihar government would promote use of solar energy for irrigation purpose in the state and steps were being taken to stop use of diesel for agrarian works.
Mr Modi, while replying to general debate on budget of the financial year 2019-20, in state Assembly, said that the state government was
committed to promote use of solar energy for irrigation purpose in Bihar and concrete steps were being taken in this direction. The state government would ensure that at least 30,000 solar energy pumps should start functioning to cater to the needs of farmers for irrigation and other agrarian works, he added.
