Govt plans for solar-powered courts
Bhubaneswar: The state government is working on converting all the courts, including the High Court, in the state into solar-powered campuses by installing rooftop solar panels on the buildings.
A meeting of Energy department, Science and Technology department, Orissa Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA) and the Orissa High Court has been scheduled for this week to work out modalities and ways to give impetus to the project.
The Science and Technology department has directed the OREDA about detailed project report (DPR) to implement the plan especially in KBK districts.
The state government on the other hand has been working on the plan to install rooftop solar panels at public offices like panchayat offices with assistance from OREDA to give alternative power options to ensure uninterrupted power supply so that official work is not hampered.
