GT Advanced Technologies Announces Release of Next Generation Multicrystalline Furnace
GT Advanced Technologies Inc.,recently announced that it will release its latest generation of multicrystalline ingot production furnace, the DSSTM20M, at SNEC Shanghai later this month. The DSSTM20M, capable of producing more than 20MW of high efficiency ingots per year, is the sixth generation furnace in GT’s DSSTM family. GT will highlight this product at its SNEC booth (E3-008) and will have further information on the furnace and material grown from the furnace available for customers to evaluate.
“We are pleased to provide the photovoltaic market with the latest generation of multicrystalline ingot production equipment,” said Dave Keck, chief executive officer of GT Advanced Technologies. “The DSSTM20M allows producers to drastically improve operational efficiency and productivity by nearly doubling production output versus the current generation furnaces. With over 3700 units installed, GT has the largest installed base of multicrystalline furnaces in the market and our latest furnace, the DSSTM20M, enables our customers to produce the highest efficiency wafers at the lowest cost in the industry.”
