Gujarat Borosil has recently expanded and more than doubled its existing production capacity of high performance solar glass to 2.4 GW per annum. Gujarat Borosil have a strong focus on expanding its domestic & exports segments and have grown substantially in the past few years. Domestic & European market segment is the major customer base for Gujarat Borosil, where they have now successfully started supplies of their newly developed products, i.e. 2.0 mm and 2.5 mm fully tempered solar glass. With additional production now available, Gujarat Borosil plans to substantially widen its customer base in the present geographies and also increasing presence in the Americas.
Gujarat Borosil have the flexibility to supply glass in even smaller sizes required in segments like residential/street lighting etc. which places them in a unique position for many buyers. At the same time Gujarat Borosil also offers tempered glass with/without Anti Reflective coating in larger sizes for as large as 96 cell modules.
Gujarat Borosil have now introduced Selene – an Anti-glare solar glass – for enhanced sunlight diffusion and glare reduction. This product is now mandatory for use in solar panels being installed within a certain distance from airports internationally. Amongst the upcoming products with enhanced features are the solar glass with Anti-soiling coating, solar glass with Matt-matt finish having higher efficiency etc. Gujarat Borosil have also successfully developed a technology to remove Antimony from its solar glass.
