HC directs Andhra government to clear Rs 1,450 Cr dues to renewable power firms

Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Friday directed the power distribution companies to clear its Rs 1,450 crore dues to solar and wind power producers for the power it purchased from them. The amount is to be paid to the producers within four weeks.
A division bench of the HC comprising chief justice JK Maheshwari and justice Venkata Ramana issued interim orders to this effect on a petition filed by various renewable energy developers stating that the state government had not been paying their dues for the power supplied to Discoms in the past.
