Himurja implementing Himachal Pradesh Roof Tops Solar Energy Programme
In Himachal Pradesh, the Roof Tops Solar Energy Programme of Union Ministry for New and Renewable Energy is being implemented by the Himachal Pradesh Government Energy Development Agency – Himurja. Chief Executive Officer of Himurja, Bhanu Pratap Singh said that during next financial year 2017-18 target of three megawatt Roof Tops Solar Energy Project has been set up. At present some projects have been installed in Baddi and Parwanoo towns in Solan district of the state.
Our correspondent reports that the Union New and Renewable Energy Ministry has released installment of Five Crore rupees under the Roof Tops Solar Energy Programme for Himachal. The beneficiary will get seventy percent subsidy on commissioning of one megawatt project on their roof. They will also sell their surplus energy to the state electricity board which would provide them additional income. The implementing agency Himurja has launched statewide campaign to aware people on this programme. The Union Ministry has fixed target of 10 megawatt Roof Tops Solar generation till the year 2022.
