In Detail : HPCL-Mittal Energy Limited (HMEL) has entered into a strategic partnership with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at advancing research and development in energy technologies. This collaboration is expected to play a key role in accelerating innovations that align with India’s clean energy and sustainability goals.

The focus areas of the partnership include sustainable energy technologies, process innovations, advanced materials, and the integration of artificial intelligence in energy systems. By working together, HMEL and IIT Kanpur intend to address critical energy challenges and explore new frontiers in energy efficiency and renewable solutions.

The MoU was signed at HMEL’s corporate office in Noida, in the presence of HMEL’s Managing Director and CEO, Prabh Das, along with senior faculty members from IIT Kanpur, including Prof. Raja Angamuthu and Prof. Jayant Kumar Singh. Both institutions emphasized the importance of industry-academia collaboration in driving impactful innovation.

This initiative aims to translate academic research into industrial applications, ensuring the development of scalable and commercially viable technologies. The goal is to reduce the time from concept to deployment while ensuring practical relevance and market readiness of the research outcomes.
