Telangana Solar Industry Stakeholder Interaction Jointly Organized by National Solar Energy Federation of India (NSEFI) and Telangana Solar Energy Association (T SEA) with Union Minister of State, New and Renewable Energy, Chemicals and Fertilizers, Shri Bhagwanth Khuba in gave keynote address at the ‘Telangana Solar Industry Stakeholder Interaction’, at Novotel, Hyderabad, on 25th August 04:30 PM.

In this session, the opening remarks were given by Shri Ashok Kumar Goud Burra, President, Telangana Solar Energy Association (T-SEA) and the context setting was done by Shri Subrahmanyam Pulipaka, Chief Executive Officer, National Solar Energy Federation of India (NSEFI).

Also, the Guest of Honour, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation, Shri Janaih, addressed the session and informed about different activities and development Telangana has made in Renewable Energy Sector, especially in Solar Energy.

Shri Bhagwanth Khuba ji, in his keynote address mentioned that Central government and State government should work hand in hand to realize India’s Renewable Energy Goals. He expressed joy and felt happy with the progress Telangana made and said that he is very hopeful that Telangana will make further progress especially in the areas of Green Hydrogen, Waste to Energy and Biomass Energy.

The minister further added India is having an ambitious target in the clean energy sector to install 450 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030 from its existing target of 175 GW by 2022. It is a matter of immense pride for the Indian Power Sector to have achieved the coveted milestone of 100 GW of installed Renewable Energy Capacity.

While 100 GW of capacity has been installed and operationalized, 50 GW of additional capacity is under installation and another 27 GW is under tendering process. As on 31st July 2021, 38.5% of India’s installed power generation capacity is based on clean renewable energy sources and with this pace we will reach the target of 40% soon.

Presently India stands at 4th position in the world in terms of installed RE capacity 5th in Solar and 4th in Wind energy capacity.

Shri Bhagwanth Khuba has mentioned that India Committed to reduce the emissions intensity of GDP by 33% – 35% below the 2005 levels and increase share of non-fossil fuel in total capacity to ~40% by 2030. India ranks 3rd in renewable energy attractive index in 2021. India’s installed renewable energy capacity increased by over 2.5 times.

While the Solar Energy Installation increased more than17 times over the last 7 years. He further added that the present Status of Renewable Energy in Telangana with the total Installed capacity of 4398MW, shows that the state is developing and going to achieve its targets on time.

He also mentioned that Government is pushing for Solar PV pumps in the state, along with new technologies such as Agro-PV, Floating Solar and Green Hydrogen. The Minister appreciated the NSEFI and T-SEA for organizing this interactive session.

The Participants from Industry interacted with Hon’ble MoS and discussed various sectors that is Rooftop Solar, PM-KUSUM Scheme and Domestic Manufacturing. The Session was attended by representatives of T-SEA Industry member. The Session wan Concluded by the Vote of Thanks to all dignitaries by, Shri Rajesh Parakala, Vice President, Telangana Solar Energy Association(T-SEA).
