HP pledges to achieve 100% renewable electricity usage by 2020
Personal computers and printing major HP Inc today pledged to achieve 100 percent renewable electricity usage and 40 percent renewable electricity mark by 2020 in its global operations. “We continue to reinvent a more sustainable business and society, not only through innovative energy-efficient technology, but also with our move towards a business that is powered entirely by renewable electricity,”
HP Inc President- Asia Pacific and Japan Richard Bailey told reporters. Reinforcing its “dedication to integrating sustainability into its core business strategy”, HP said it “plans to reach the 40 percent renewable electricity mark by 2020 in its global operations”. It further said, “As part of this goal, HP is joining RE100, a global initiative of top businesses committed to 100 per cent renewable electricity.” RE100 works with companies to help businesses transition to renewable energy sources and accelerate the transformation of the global energy market to a low carbon economy.
