Hubballi: Lok Sabha member and senior BJP leader Pralhad Joshi on Thursday warned that if the works on centrally sponsored Solar City project was not begun before March this year, he would be forced to write the Union Government to withdraw the order.
Participating in a review meeting of Disha Programme along with District Development Council, he said that the Centre had selected Mysuru and Hubballi-Dharwad twin cities under Solar City project during 2010 in Karnataka state.
But so far even the project report is not prepared by the concerned City Municipal Corporations.
The total money allocated to the project was Rs 158 crore.
He expressed his anguish that such a good programme is being neglected by the officials concerned and he would be pained to write a letter to Union Government for withdrawal of the project.
