Japanese real estate and renewables investor Ichigo Inc (TYO:2337) commenced commercial operation of its 1.29-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) park in Gifu prefecture on September 5.

Located in the city of Minokamo, the Ichigo Minokamo Hachiyacho Kamihachiya ECO Power Plant is equipped with 3,880 solar panels capable of generating enough electricity to meet consumer needs of 520 households, the company said.

The facility was constructed on 9,874-sq-m (106,283 sf ft) piece of unused land.

The Minokamo park is Ichigo’s 49th solar power plant, with which the company reaches 145.71 MW of operational solar capacity. Ichigo plans to have 64 commissioned solar parks totalling 187.82 MW in the 2021-2022 period, it said.
