Minister for New and Renewable Energy Harsh Yadav said that attention should be paid to increase electricity production from Solar Energy projects being run in the state. Along with this, speed for implementation of Solar Pump Yojana should be accelerated. During the review meeting, Yadav gathered information in detail about the activities of the department and instructed officials for regular review.
It was informed at the meeting that 330 mw electricity is being produced from the Rewa Solar Power Project. Efforts are being made to increase production from this project. Electricity is also being supplied to Delhi Metro from this project. Four Solar parks of 2000 mw capacity in Agar, Shajapur Neemuch and Morena will start soon and necessary process in this regard is underway. Informing about the implementation of the Solar Pump Yojana, it was mentioned that total 90 percent grant is given by the state and union government to farmers under the scheme for pumps upto 3 hp.
Principal Secretary Manu Shrivastava informed that a total of 12 thousand solar pumps have already been installed in the state. Similarly, roof top plants of 15 mw capacity have already been installed at Police Headquarters, various District Hospitals, Government schools etc. The RESCO bidding process of the department has been appreciated by one hundred 25 members of the International Solar Alliance. Besides, other states also wish to follow this process.
