The Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd (SECI) plans to develop floating solar projects along with hybrid solarpluswind schemes with a combined capacity of 325 MW, the Economic Times said on Tuesday, citing an official. The hybrid project is of 300MW capacity and will be located in the state of Andhra Pradesh. SECI also plans to install two 10MW floating solar arrays in Kerala and Andhra Pradesh, along with a 5MW system on Lakshadweep Islands, according to the report.SECI’s managing director Ashvini Kumar said, as cited by the newspaper, that the company has turned to the World Bank to fund half of the project cost or about USD 200 million (EUR 174m). The rest of the sum will be covered by SECI itself. SECI was set up in 2011 to help deliver the targets of the country’s Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM).
