Individual household solar power system – EQ Mag

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) is implementing Rooftop Solar Programme Phase II to promote rooftop solar (RTS) in the country providing financial support to individual households for installation of RTS. The Programme is demand driven and RTS capacity aggregating 4000 MW is targeted for residential sector through provision of total Central Financial Assistance (CFA) of Rs. 6600 crore under the Programme.
For individual households, CFA up to 40% of the benchmark cost is provided for RTS plants up to 3 kW capacity and 20% for RTS plants capacity beyond 3 kW and up to 10 kW. For Group Housing Societies/ Residential Welfare Associations (GHS/RWA), CFA is limited to 20% of the benchmark cost for RTS plants of capacity up to 500 kW used for supply of power to common facilities.
This information was given by Shri R.K Singh, Union Minister for Power and New and Renewable Energy in a written reply in Lok Sabha today.
