Indus, Trilegal help LGT invest $50m in Canadian AMPSolar India subsidiary
IndusLaw advised long standing client AMPSolar India and its management team in relation to investment by LGT Lightstone Aspada in AMPSolar India. As part of the transaction, LGT Lightstone Aspada will invest a total of US$ 50 million in AMPSolar India, and will acquire a significant minority stake in AMPSolar India. AMP Energy is a global renewable energy utility with India, the US, Canada and Australia as its core markets. AMPSolar India was co-founded by Pinaki Bhattacharyya, chief executive officer for India, and focuses on providing power to commercial and industrial (C&I) customers f, according to reports.
NEW DELHI: Attracted by India’s green energy trajectory, LGT Lightstone Aspada plans to invest up to $50 million in Canadian firm AMP Solar Group’s India unit, said four people aware of the development.

IndusLaw advised long-standing AMPSolar India and its management team led by a team of partner Avirup Nag, principal associate Nitin Gera and senior associate Sabrina Afroze, alongside AMPSolar India’s internal legal team comprising of Rakshika Kaul and Yashi Sinha.
Canadian law firm Goodmans_ LLP also advised AMP Energy.
Trilegal acted for LGT Lightstone Aspada led by partner Arnav Dayal.
The investor will take a minority stake in the company, which is a subsidiary of a global renewable energy utility with core markets in India, the US, Canada and Australia. AMPSolar India was co-founded by India CEO Pinaki Bhattacharyya and specialises in power to commercial and industrial customers.
