In Short : While rooftop wind turbines for electricity generation may seem like an attractive idea, there are several practical challenges and considerations associated with their installation
In Detail : The Union Minister for New & Renewable Energy and Power has informed that at present, there is no specific scheme for subsidy for the installation of rooftop wind turbine for the generation of electricity. However, the ongoing Rooftop Solar Scheme Phase-II has provision for installation of solar rooftop PV – wind hybrid systems, wherein the central financial assistance / incentive is considered only for the capacity of the PV modules installed on rooftop of buildings within the campus.
This information has been given by the Union Minister for New & Renewable Energy and Power Shri R. K. Singh, in a written reply to a question, in Rajya Sabha on December 19, 2023.
