The International Solar Alliance (ISA) on Friday mentioned it could present aid of up to USD 50,000 to 11 member nations for demonstrative solar vitality projects. The Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) of 11 ISA member nations specifically Comoros, Ethiopia, Fiji, Guyana, Jamaica, Kiribati, Malawi, Senegal, Togo, Tonga, and Niger have been formally permitted by Ajay Mathur, Director General, ISA.
A proper signing-in ceremony was hosted by ISA at its fourth normal meeting held from October 18-21.
“ISA will present a grant of up to USD 50,000 to Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and Small Island Developing States (SID) member nations to undertake Demonstration Solar projects,” a press release mentioned.
Among different issues, the initiative of demonstration solar projects goals to present technical and monetary help to LDCs and SIDS member nations of ISA to implement demonstration projects and help resilience constructing in key sectors corresponding to agriculture and well being within the backdrop of COVID disaster.
“ISA is continuously looking at ways and means to support the socio-economic goals of our member countries. These grants reflect our commitment to their accelerated solarization. The projects supported through these grants will also help identify the modifications in national policies and processes that will enable fast replication,” Mathur mentioned.
s on date, expressions of curiosity to initiative solar demonstration projects from 27 member nations have been obtained, and 77 bilateral conferences organized with the member nations to talk about the initiative intimately and to present clarifications and help to develop the DPRs.
Seven member nations – Burundi, Comoros, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Fiji, Senegal, and Sudan – have opted for demonstration venture implementation by ISA. These projects will likely be carried out by NTPC, which is ISA’s Project Management Consultancy.
Besides, 13 members have opted for direct implementation.
