  • The Sabanalarga solar park will have a total capacity of 100 MW and will be located in the Municipality with the same name in the department of Atlántico.

  • The project will be carried out by the firm Negratin, an expert firm in this type of technology.

  • The works will begin soon, as part of ISAGEN’s commitment to the energy transition, incorporating non-conventional renewable generation sources to complement the Colombian energy matrix.

Last April 2021, the Company had announced the acquisition of the Sabanalarga solar project from the Spanish group Solaer. Today, after a rigorous structuring exercise, we can announce the start of its construction, ratifying our commitment to the energy transformation process.

The construction will be in charge of the firm Negratin under the figure EPC (from the English engineering, procurement and construction) commonly known as “turnkey”. This project will be in operation in the second half of 2023.

This development is part of ISAGEN’s growth plan in which, together with other investments, we added close to 1 billion pesos in wind and solar projects in the last year, which reflects our confidence in the country.

At ISAGEN we are convinced that from the business sector we can contribute to accelerating the energy transition in harmony with the environment and society, supporting the great challenge proposed by the National Government, headed by the Ministry of Mines and Energy.

The Los Nevados National Natural Park (PNN) gives rise to 9 hydrographic basins and 19 streams that cross its more than 38,000 hectares of extension. Five of these basins supply the Magdalena River and the rest, the Cauca River. This network supplies the water consumed by the two million people who live in the Coffee Region and a million more in Tolima.
