June 2, 2022, Jakson Group, one of the leading energy solution companies, completed the first-ever Solar Park project in Assam. An offshoot of the historic Assam Accord, the 70 MW Amguri Solar Park was inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, in the presence of Shri Bimal Borah, Hon’ble Minister of Power, Sports & Youth Welfare, Cultural Affair & Tourism on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at Amguri, Sivasagar in Assam.
The EPC of the entire project has also been done in-house by Jakson Group. The power generated in the plant will be procured by Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) under a power purchase agreement. The project is being executed by Jakson Group as a Solar Power Developer, with the Assam Power Generation Corporation Limited (APGCL) acting as solar power park developer.
This first-ever Solar Park in Assam will enhance green energy generation and is estimated to generate around 130 GWh of electricity annually. The energy generated in this solar power park will augment the state’s energy demand and help create employment opportunities for the youth in Assam and nearby regions. The plant will go a long way in boosting the nation’s vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and building an Aatmanirbhar Assam.
