Japanese engineering group JGC Holdings Corp (TYO:1963) announced last week that it will build a 50.95-MW solar power plant in Tsu city, Mie prefecture.
Through JGC Japan Corp, the engineering firm will provide design, procurement, construction and test-run services for a solar photovoltaic (PV) project planned by GK Succeed Tsu Haze.
JGC Holdings pointed out it expects to complete the job in March 2023. The PV farm will cover an area of approximately 76 hectares (187.8 acres) and will be able to produce enough power to meet the annual consumption of about 20,000 local homes.
Present in the Japanese solar market since early 2012, the JGC group is planning to actively work on expanding its current portfolio, investing not only in solar power but also in biomass and offshore wind power projects, it noted.
