In Short : JSW Neo Energy has secured a 200 MW wind-solar hybrid project. This project integrates both wind and solar power generation, enhancing the efficiency and reliability of renewable energy production. The initiative aligns with JSW’s strategy to expand its green energy portfolio, contributing to India’s renewable energy targets and supporting the transition to a more sustainable energy future.

In Detail : New Delhi: SW Energy’s subsidiary, JSW Neo Energy, has been awarded a letter of award (LoA) by Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL) for the establishment of a wind-solar hybrid power project.

JSW Energy statement announced that JSW Neo Energy was awarded the 200 MW wind-solar hybrid power project through a tariff-based competitive bid. The company’s overall generation capacity has grown to 17.2 GW with the recent award, including a hybrid capacity of 2.9 GW (including FDRE).

JSW Energy currently has a total generation capacity of 17.2 GW, with 7.5 GW already operational, 2.3 GW under construction in wind, thermal, and hydro projects, and a renewable energy pipeline of 7.3 GW (with PPAs already signed for 2.3 GW). The company aims to increase their installed generation capacity to 10 GW by FY25, compared to the current capacity of 7.5 GW.

The company also holds 4.2 GWh of secured energy storage capability from battery energy storage systems and hydro-pumped storage projects. The goal of the company is to achieve a generation capacity of 20 GW and an energy storage capacity of 40 GWh by 2030. JSW Energy has established a challenging goal to become carbon neutral by the year 2050.
