KSTAR has announced the connection to the grid of a 550 MW solar-water project in Wenzhou, China, equipped with its GSM3125C-MV35 inverter turnkey solution.

The Wenzhou Taihan 550MW project, located in the Zhejiang province of East China, is one of the largest PV projects that combines floating solar with aquaculture, and will generate 650 million kilowatt-hours of clean power to the grid each year, reducing CO2 emissions by 648,000 tonnes.

Covering an area of approximately 4,933,333.3 square meters on the beach in the enclosed area of the Southern Zhejiang, the project will bring great ROI for the owners. The annual output is 335 million RMB, and the annual tax revenue is nearly 50 million RMB.

The 550MW project location Wenzhou, is a city with subtropical maritime monsoon climate. There is high temperature and rain in summer. Frequent typhoon and high-salt and high-humidity climatic conditions at the seaside bring many challenges to the photovoltaic power plants.

In order to ensure the long-term stable operation for the PV power station, the Wenzhou Taihan 550MWp PV power station has chosen KSTAR GSM3125C-MV inverter with powerful turnkey solution. The inverter has strong protection and anti-corrosion performance, high reliability, and can guarantee the safe operation of photovoltaic power station.

GSM3125C-MV35 inverter turnkey solution is IP54 protection level, C5 anti-corrosion, Anti-PID and PID recovery, especially suitable for offshore PV power generation with high temperature, high humidity, and high salt fog area. The inverter can reserve an energy storage interface, which is convenient for upgrading the energy storage system in the future.

“The project combines PV power and fish farming, to make better use of the available space in the sea. The PV power can help bring green and low-carbon development of the city’s economy.” Said one of project managers from KSTAR.
