LDK Solar in Official Liquidation and Onshore Restructuring

LDK Solar CO. Ltd. recently announced that on April 6, 2016, subsequent to the filing on February 11, 2016 of a joint creditors’ petition dated February 5, 2016 (the “Petition”) in the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands (the “Cayman Court”), the Cayman Court ordered that the Company be wound up in accordance with the Companies Law (2013 Revision) (as amended) (the “Cayman Order”). The Cayman Court further ordered that David Martin Griffin of FTI Consulting (Cayman) at Suite 3212, 53 Market Street, Camana Bay, PO Box 30613, Grand Cayman, KY1-1203, Cayman Islands and John Howard Batchelor of FTI Consulting, Level 22, The Center, 99 Queen’s Road Central, Central, Hong Kong, be appointed as Joint Official Liquidators of the Company (“JOLs”) and that the JOLs be authorized to, amongst other things, do any acts or things considered by them to be necessary or desirable in connection with the liquidation of the Company and the winding up of its affairs.
