Long Beach Public/Private Partnership Leads to Highly Anticipated Grand Opening of City’s First Solar, All Electric New-Home Neighborhood

City Ventures announces Huxton, one of the first new for-sale housing communities to be built in the Long Beach downtown core in nearly a decade

IRVINE, Calif.: City Ventures, one of California’s leading eco-friendly homebuilders, has announced the highly anticipated opening of Huxton in downtown Long Beach, the city’s first solar, all-electric new-home neighborhood. A public Grand Opening and debut of a furnished model home is set for this Saturday, September 29, 2018.

Huxton is the result of a strategic public/private partnership between Long Beach and City Ventures and represents one of the first new for-sale housing communities to be built in the city’s downtown core in nearly a decade.

This modern-inspired, 40-unit townhome neighborhood is located at 227 Elm Avenue between Broadway and Third streets, providing much needed for-sale housing options to the city. City Ventures has already sold 10 residences at Huxton during a successful pre-sales campaign.

With advanced technology that powers the entire home to reduce electricity and eliminate gas bills all together, Huxton is the first-of-its-kind sustainable community in Long Beach and exceeds national energy-efficiency standards. The townhomes also promote healthy in-home living through advanced clean airflow systems and use of non-toxic materials.

The all-inclusive advanced technology at Huxton includes high-performance GE appliances that require less power to operate; high-efficiency LED lighting; dual glaze Milgard® windows with ultra-violet coating; water wise Kohler® plumbing fixtures; and advanced framing technology that uses less lumber to save trees. The homes also come standard with NEST® thermostats for climate control; radiant barrier roof sheathing; HVAC systems that are tested for optimal refrigerant charge and duct performance; and low to zero volatile organic compounds (VOC) in paints, stains and adhesives.

“This milestone opening of Huxton is the result of what we see as a model for public/private development efforts,” said Phil Kerr, Chief Executive Officer of City Ventures Homebuilding. “We are extremely proud of our partnership with the City of Long Beach and are thrilled to be a part of the world-class revitalization that is happening in the downtown core. This is an exciting time to be here and we look forward to our continued success at Huxton and at our future communities in Long Beach.”

Prices at Huxton start in the high $600,000s. For more information and to join the interest list, visit www.HuxtonLongBeach.com or call 949.469.9407.
