NASHIK: The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has decided to install solar panels on public toilets at 113 locations at the cost of Rs 1.5 crore.
The project is to be carried out under the 15th finance commission.
The power generated through solar panels will be given to the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL). This will help the civic body reduce its electricity bills.
Civic officials said they will prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) in this regard. The proposal is soon to be sent to the government for its approval.
